Annette Hils was born in St Georgen in the Black Forest in 1968. While still at school she achieved considerable success as a recorder-player, being awarded a prize at the national level of the ˝Jugend musiziert” competition. She studied with Dan Laurin at the Hochschule der Künste in Bremen, obtaining first a teaching diploma and later, in 1997, the post-graduate diploma for performance, ˝künstlerische Reifeprüfung”, which laid the foundations for her active performing career. In addition, she has been. playing historical double-reed instruments since 1995. Annette Hils has given solo and chamber music concerts in the series Rheinsberger Schlosskonzerte, in the Berlin festival Klangbilder and in the Philharmonie Berlin. She works regularly with Concerto Grosso Berlin, the Detmold ensemble Il Nuove Musiche and the Göttingen Baroque Orchestra and has been invited as guest artist by the Wasa Baroque Orchestra in Göteborg, among others. She lives in Berlin and teaches at the music school in Spandau.
