Birgit Bahr completed her musical studies in Hamburg: recorder and historical woodwind instruments with Frau Prof. H. Weber and baroque oboe with R. Hildebrand. She achieved high honours in both a performance and a teaching diploma. Subsequently she broadened her musical knowledge in masterclasses with Marion Verbruggen, Ku Ebbinge and Bernhard Junghänel. Birgit Bahr has worked with many well-known Early Music ensembles in Germany and abroad, touring with the Musicalische Compagney, Weserrenaissance, Concerto Palatino, Cantus Cölln and Capella Orlandi Bremen, among others, in Denmark, Norway, Holland, Italy, Greece and Austria. She has also participated in many radio and CD recordings.
