JAM Sessions 2026: Mona Lisa's Mystic Smile
Concerts and workshops with Capella de la Torre and JAM
The JAM-SESSIONS offer a solid introduction to early music, particularly the repertoire of the Renaissance and early Baroque periods. A new feature of this approach is the use of modern instruments alongside historical instruments and vocal parts, allowing participants to make music together at a high level right from the start.
From March 20–22, 2026, we will meet in Berlin, at the University of the Arts, for workshops and performances featuring music ranging from Dowland to Monteverdi. Together with the internationally renowned top-tier ensemble Capella de la Torre and members of the Youth Ensemble for Early Music (JAM)—led by Katharina Bäuml and Hille Wippermann—the workshop is aimed at Jugend musiziert participants, students, teachers, and anyone else interested in early music.
Happy Early Music Day 2026
On March 21, 2026, CAPELLA, JAM, and their guests performed not one but two concerts as part of Early Music Day at the Berlin University of the Arts. As part of a master class, students, the young musicians from JAM, and the professionals from CAPELLA worked together on pieces by Josquin, Senfl, Sermisy, Monteverdi, and others.
Acclaimed closing concert at the State Library on Unter den Linden
On November 1, 2025, JAM performed music from the Mediterranean region under the theme “MEDITERRANEO” in the completely sold-out Humboldt Hall of the State Library on Unter den Linden. With the twenty compositions from the 15th to 17th centuries that they had rehearsed during the fall workshop, the 25 young musicians captivated the audience and the press representatives in attendance. Jam at the Concert Hall
Under the theme "ON THE ROAD – A Musical Journey Through Renaissance Europe," JAM performed twice at the Berlin Konzerthaus on Sunday, July 6, 2025. At 2:15 p.m. and 3:25 p.m., the young musicians of the select ensemble took the stage alongside members of Capella de la Torre in the Small Hall, which was packed to capacity both times.

Debüt-Konzert im Bode-Museum
Am 26.10.2024 konnte JAM sein Debütkonzert in der ausverkauften Basilika des Bode-Museums Berlin feiern. Das Publikum war begeistert von diesem deutschlandweit einzigartigen Modellprojekt, das sich auch in den Medien bundesweiter Resonanz erfreute. So wird es am 11.11.2024 um 21.30h eine Portraitsendung auf Deutschlandfunk Kultur geben. Bereits im März 2025 steht JAM auf dem prominenten Berliner Festival für alte Musik SPAM das nächste Mal auf der Bühne.
